Production 02 contextual approach

Change of plans... I aint gonna be formal no more... Imma be me... well bout' 70 percent of this blog is gon' be me. First off i miss writtin' like this... cause over where i was livin' was the norm... and over here people don't understand me that much... i hope when someone read this they get it or else imma' fail this subject.

people who have influenced the way i talk
ok 'nuff about the new me bloggin'... imma step it up a notch.
aight aight contextual aproach for my filmin'.

first scene:

the first one i picked was this creepy scene.. it was SHIT scary... pardon my language but it was scary... i mean..i dunno where to begin with this scene...let see... ok amm yea this scene has this girl reportin'...  but it wasnt the usual reportin' you see on tv.. it was the most weirdest news i had ever seen... there was also a great deal of metaphors in there, i mean, the way she was portrayed was amazing... it makes the hair on the back of you neck stands... take a look at this...

seriously creepy man... who woulda known that sweet girl arasi could be freaky like this... i mean the make up was brilliant...props to that and the singing gives a very chilly feel to it.. honestly this scene affects a lot on the narrative. i mean we had to go way outside the box to beat this.. it was difficult to find inspiration but in the end they did... yea i said they cause to be honest... i was caught in my own world...doin' my own shit instead filmin' and stuff... i notice the distance between me and the group and i always slack off.... it was a real wake up call from the director when she told me to realize how far i am... i aint been doin' work since the start of this sem and now its piling up on me... there a lot i wanna tell but due to the fact that this is public and i dunno how to make it private i cant... all i know i realize how far back i am and now i have to eat tomato sauce to play catch-up... oh god terrible pun...

hahahah dude i love this guy :D... i think im a schizophrenic cause i just cheered myself up anyways back to the scene... imma gonna tell you how this scene affect the overall narative...first of all we wanted to some borring lame typical reporter scence... honestly it was crap... she just sat there with a white background.. a laptop on the desk and some crappy notes... all was bright colours so there wasnt much contrast when we change it to monochrome..i mean there wasnt much to tell about it...it was... just boring and you know.. for design students who is supposedly to be creative.. i think its insulting for the lecturers to see it... sorry mr. charles..

so what we did was scrap this whole idea we have that a reporter sits on a desk readin note or whatevr they have and take way outside the box...i mean shred that box.. i they took it a whole new way i was absent for that cause i was late but yeh.. they took it way outside. when i saw this i was like "woah! you guys really outdone yerselves hahah awesome" damn freak and creepy and arasi singin aint too bad either.. contextually speakin.. this scene shows how the world of our film works.. they dont have natural reporting for it.. not the normal way reporting.. we want to show secretive and seclusion for it...like to hide things and not show the overall surroundings.. i mean we purposely put the close up on her face so that... 1- we capture the sound better cause we can put the mic closer and make the singin clearer.. 2- by doin this we are hiding things.. makes our audience question the where about of the film.. i mean y'all know its taylors but  at the same time we makin it not taylors...kno-im-sayin? its also very effective for the narative a it gives a migicall air to it... its different in a creepy but good way...

Second scene:

Aight! the secooonnndddd sceenceeeeeee hahaha ok this was a funny scene to do.. it got everyone frustrated... mainly cause of lightin and angle.. also a certain some one brough over their bf and had an arguement hahahah sarah if your readin this im sorry :P but seriously it was a really stupid arguement ahahahah and counter-productive.. ok i souldnt be the one talkin about counter-productivity buuuttttt that was very counter productive... lookin back on it.. its hilarious hahahah anyways back to the scene... go ahead take a look at it first..

as you can see more close up of the face.. btw that was me and the camera was set for the angle from the point of view of the lock... yea i was like.. i wonder what locks feel like when they stick key up in their bussiness so we put it up from the view of the key hahah its clear to see that theres in any decent lightin in the room.. we didnt get to time it well cause i was again late... damn it suck and now we gon have to retake it... soooryyy guyysss....yeaa they complain bout my stabin as well... but i stabbed enough to kno how to stab haahah just kiddin but over all we did get some good shots... i mean the key angle was intresting and the shadow play was also good not to mention there was also the creepy mask in it....

so this time this was the best i could do for the blogg but stay looney..cause toon is to mainstream for the next post... :D
this is Fariz signin out ...Peace

Production report

Our filming took us to campus on a Saturday... yea a Saturday :( it was terrible and awful. I'm suppose to spend my Saturday sleeping and relaxing and now here i am at nine in the morning at campus.. OK granted that we have class that Saturday and it was t 1 but i don't see the reason to come in so early.. if only the shop at my place are close i would have considered walking there.

so here we are on a Saturday at campus... OK it was fine to say we start filming at 9 but when i arrive there, there was no no one there it was quite expected of them... honestly i though of doing the same thing as well haha, but due to the fact that i was starving to the point of looking like Victoria Beckham i decided to go not cause we are filming but to eat... he at least I'm honest :P

so i waited from 9 all the way till we have class at 1.. it was depressing sooo lonely.. but i did have time to do some of my other assignments whilst waiting for my group mates. so we ended class at 4 and said OK we'll film now since every body is here...

We decided to do the underground scene that day because it was suitable as it was the only place that had proper lighting for the concept of noir. The place where we took the film was scary it took me a while to convince the 3 girls to come and shoot but eventually they did.
We had some problems at first and got into and argument because we couldn't find the angel we wanted for the scene because light was different from when we took before. it was also a problem as everyone in the group had different ideas and we dint come to a conclusion until after about an hour.

this scene is where my character Tyler meets up with the 2 illusionist and hypnotist and i was to convince them to overthrow Ignis. it was quite difficult to do because we didn't have any script so every thing said had to be done on the spot. it was my first time acting to so i was quite nervous...

our next scene we did it on a Sunday it was a car chase scene and a chase scene it was very difficult to do as i the main character had to drive >:D yea it was difficult to decide which one would have to sacrifice their car and ti was funny as well because i had no license hahaha so we did the car scene and then i drove over to the car park to do the chase scene.

the chase scene us where my character chase after Ignis played by nick. this scene was our biggest problem so far it was almost impossible to do in the dark and nick is a bit shortsighted. We had many run on different angle.

we had from a afar to capture the speed and the size for the place were running

we had one from the chaser's point of view, almost like first person.

and we had one from the back.

we have a lot of editing to do and need to record sound over because it wasn't clear to do so. i wanted to film more however our filming was cut short as nick feel and had a little accident doing the running scene at the car park and cut his hands landing on the rocky ground.. The rocky ground how ever provide us with cool effects.. our feet had smoke coming off of it as we run because of the dust and dirt on it...

And yesterday we did a scene for the new reporter with arisi. Sarah then went home and did some editing for it here it is on youtube

Contextual approach

Production 1

• Select 2 scenes, explain and describe the visual concept based on
your understanding of design principles.

  1.                                                                                                                                                                      This is a scene I choose to show my understanding for a visual concept. It show surreal use of lighting that allows a mysterious aura around the figure in the foreground. This allows audience to relate to the film by provoking one of the 5 senses of which is sight. This will make the audience ask question for them selves creating a visual effect. The use of r3 also help to capture the figure i the foreground making him stand out. It also give a calming balance as the nature of the lighting split the image in 2 side which is light and dark.
  2.     This scene is again another one that shows high value within visual concept. The setting under the bridge is amazing for the depiction on the hieroglyph. giving rough surface on the wall which we will carve to show the olden days writing. Its sets also a rugged a atmosphere for the scene making it mysterious.

Design reference..

we did so much researc for our new story  line it was epic!!!! hahaha no seriously it was better than we did for the last one... we watch so much magic movies from harry potter to fairy tail to the illusionist...

Harry Potter

The story written by J.K Rowling  which sold millions of copies tell a story of a boy who's world was flipped upside-down when he was told that he was a wizard,,

Fairy Tail

The manga illustrated by the Hiro Mashima, tells a story of the guild fairy tail which stand for the principle of family. This principle alone is what allows them to overcome any obstacle. The way magic used in daily life is overwhelming and each character uses their own magic power, each one complies simply with their personality. This was very useful for the research for the characters as it provides us with multiple varieties of characters.

The illusionist allows us to understand the illusions we needed for the movie we are creating. There many form of illusions and each one was batter than the last. I find it very useful for the filming as we can understand how its done.

we even looked up on some of the moders magician such as david blane or dynamo... they all use very cever illusion for their tricks and we would get better understanding of the way magic works and how the eyes can be lied so much... it was very facinating and cool to learn all this magic tricks and it was amazing...

Our progress :)

Our progress so far has not been so good :(... We are masters of procrastinating and the more we slack the more I feel like my grades is slipping :( ... I realize we have sooo much to do and we are to care free to realize it...  But then it hit us on our first tutorial :O ... Our lecturer had given a us a bad response say that he doesn't get much from us and the fact that we don't do much about it... Bothers me a lot.. Really hard to keep focus when there are  so much going on in each others personal life and it hard to maintain balance between class and fun cause fun just seem so much.. fun.... hahaha I suppose our lack of discipline holds us back and when I need to realize that sometime we need to take matters into our own hand....

We did some research about noir and some on cult but it wasn't still enough as we only used the internet... I went and look at the some movie making techniques book for noir and the amount of information i found was over whelming....

At first I did some research on the play of lighting for the noir style movie.. I thought that all our procrastinating would get nothing done it was quite worrying.. But then an idea came along...i was reading the batman comic and thought how cool it was if we did a cult on the joker.. personally i loved the idea of worshiping the joker but the problem was that we had so much to do on him..the character of the joker kept changing over the yer and then it was difficult to choose.. how ever it did built to our later story line...

MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... LET THE IDEAS FLOW
>:D

The theme of our story originally was the idea the rebellion and anarchy within the world where the Joker cease to exist and then a single follower came after it but since there was no progress made we decided to change the story line and then improve on it even better we even out time to manage everything :) That's when we decided on the magician story... We were watching the movie that just came out now you see me and was immediately inspired by it...
